ARCVIL To foster the talents of Young Civil engineering students, we the students of civil engineering of KSSE initiated to open their very own technical forum called ARCVIL. Main Objectives of Forum

ARCVIL aims to conduct

  • Technical fests and provide platform for the students to showcase their talents, views through their creativity.
  • To arrange lecturers by distinguished Engineers/Professional for dissemination of knowledge amongst the Civil engineering students in particular.

The Technical association was inaugurated on 21 Feb 2011 at Aryabhata Hitech Seminar Hall, K.S. Group of Institutions, Bangalore.

Farewell (2012-2016) (2014-2016)

An official way of saying good bye was held for our PG and UG students from Civil Engineering Department on 13th may 2016.

Farewell is necessary before we can meet again, and meeting again after moments or a lifetime is certain for those who are friends. ”Saying goodbye can be tough when you don’t know if you are ever going to meet again. Only memories are left behind after a painful farewell from your beloved person.

Graduation day (2012-2016) (2014-2016)

Graduation day was held for outgoing batch (PG and UG) of KSSEM on 14th may 2016 at MYRA convention hall, Kanakapura road, bengaluru.

Graduation or convocation is getting a academic degree or the ceremony that is sometimes associated, in which students become graduates. The date of graduation is often called graduation day. Here students were given away the momentous and certificate by the chief guest.

Seminar on green buildings was held on March, 2016 by Department of civil engineering. The resource persons was Mr. S. Srinivas

The building sector in India is growing at a rapid pace and contributing immensely to the growth of the economy. The green concepts ad techniques in the building sector can help address national issues like water efficiency, energy, and energy efficiency, reduction in fossil fuel use for commuting, handling of consumers waste and conserving natural resources.

Green buildings have tremendous benefits, both tangible and intangible. Most tangible benefits are the reduction in water and energy consumption right from day one of occupancy. Energy savings could range from 20-30% and water savings around 30-50%. The intangible benefit is air quality, excellent day lighting, health and well-being of occupants, safety benefits and conservation of scare national resources.

IGBC Green New Buildings designed for new buildings, both air – conditions and non-air – conditioned buildings. Based on scope of work, projects can choose any of above options.

  1. Owner –occupied buildings are those wherein 51% or more of buildings built-up area is occupied by owner.
  2. Tenant-occupied buildings are those wherein 51% or more of building’s built-up area is occupied by tenants.

Hands on Concrete Mix Proportions

Workshop on “ Hands on Concrete Mix Proportions” was organized for 2 days i.e. 18th and 19th of September 2013 by the department of civil engineering in co-ordination with “ Ultra Tech” headed by YTVV Prasad and Vyshnavi in which concrete mix proportions for various grades of cement was explained and practically mix was carried out in concrete lab. Students actively participated and made a benefit out of it.

National seminar on green buildings was held on August 28th 2013

National seminar on green buildings was held on August 28th 2013 by Department of civil engineering. The resource persons were Mr.S.Srinivas, Mr.Sampath, Mr.Sateesh from Indian Green Building council (IGBC) Hyderbad.

The seminar covered Green Building case study, different models in green building documentation. Delegates were given exercise on documentation in the later part of the session.

Various delegates from Yellama Dasappa Institute of Technology, Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management, Acharya Institute of Technology and our students and faculty participated enthustically.
