Trophy Winner

Department of Computer Science and Engineering has got the overall championship trophy of Aarohana 2K18 and the Sports Cup. The Staff and Students of the department Celebrated this event on 26th March 2018 

Project Exhibition

The department of Computer Science and Engineering  had arranged Project Presentation on 19 May 2017 for the final year students to exhibit their innovations and to improve their demonstration skills. students actively participated in the event and presented their projects to the curious visitors. to recognize their ability and to find the best among the presenters, department had invited Mr.Sunil.P, Project Manager from the industry as Judge for the exhibition. the projects “Development of frame work for the Garbage management system using IOT” and “Remote Access and controlling of mobile phone using SMS” were awarded as the best project.

Farewell Party

Students of 6th semester Computer Science and Engineering had arranged for farewell Party for the outgoing 8th sem students on 19th May 2017. the department awarded best outgoing students and toppers of the department on this occasion. A fulfilled party ended up with emotional moments.

 

Excursion

Department of Computer Science and Engineering had organized Five Days Excursion to “Kerala-Gods Own Country”  from 28th April 2017 to 2nd May 2017. The Students from 4th and 6th semester, around 90+ along with the faculties Explored places like Munnar, Alleppey, Guruvayur, and Kochin. Students enjoyed the power of traveling and discovered the flavors of  Kerala.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering had organized 2 days workshop on ARM PROCESSOR on 4th and 5th of April 2017.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Bhagat who has been for 15+ years in the embedded industry gave hands on exposure to the 4th sem students.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering has arranged Two day workshop on Android Mobile Application Development for 8th SEM students from 31-3-2017 to 1-4-2017 by Mr.Abhilash.S Software Engineering, Infosys. Workshop included development of android application in various domains like Hospital Management, Transport System Etc. The session included hands on application development with the basics of java.

Department of computer science and engineering has got a golden feather “Annual rolling trophy “ a recognition for the cultural activity for the year 2016-2017. The achievement was celebrated  on Tuesday 28-3-2017 by students And staff .

INAGURATION OF 7TH ENCRYPTONITES FORUM

Department of Computer Science & Engineering, KSSEM has inaugurated 7th Encryptonites Forum on 4th March 2017. Encryptonites forum enables students to enrich their knowledge about new technology, innovations and Research in the field of Computer science. Conduction of guest lecture, Industrial visits and Technical quiz comes under this roof.

A great personality from Industry with vast experience in the field of Space technology and innovations headed over the function as Chief Guest Mr. Hanumanth Managoli, Director,SYP Solutions.  Alumni of KSSEM, Ms.Jayashree.P, working as Senior Relationship Manager from American Express India chaired as Guest of Honor. Dr S.N.Sridhar, Principal/Director, KS School of Engineering and Management presided over the function. Dr B.K Raghavendra Professor and Head of Computer Science and Engineering department welcomed the dignitaries and participants to the forum. Dr.M.T.Gopalakrishna witnessed the whole event. This occasion was graced by HoDs, faculty members of various departments and students of CSE.

Organizers of the forum conducted many events such as “Technical Quiz”, “Technical pick and speech”, “Pictionary”, ”Decryptathon” and “Wordworth”. Students of all the semester participated actively and won many prizes.

Work shop

Department of Computer Science & Engineering had organized a 3-days workshop on “Agile Methodologies” for 7th semester students from 24/10/2016 to 26/10/2016. Mr. Venkatesh Kempareddy from Certified Scrum Master had explained the concept of agile and scrum. The students were given the different activities to understand how exactly a scrum would work.

Technical Talk

Department of Computer Science & Engineering had organized a technical talk on “Cloud Computing” for VII semester students on 1st of September 2016. Mr. Sunil R D, Manager-Operations, Trans Neuron Technologies Pvt. Ltd, had delivered a talk and explained the various opportunities in the field of Cloud. The session was very interactive and useful to students.

Invited Talk

Department of Computer Science & Engineering had organized a talk on “Selection of Projects“ for VII semester students on 8/8/2016. Mr. Sunil S from Daneshwari Learning Lane (DLL) addressed the students the various domains for carrying out the academic projects. He has given the list of project titles and if chosen, the resource persons from DLL will guide the respective teams to implement the project using Agile Method.

“Black and white” themed welcome party was arranged by Seniors of the CSE department for the new toddlers. A fun filled session started at 1 pm on 26th August 2016 in the presence of Dr. B.K.Raghavendra, Head of the Department. Games were arranged followed by Dance performance.

BITS PLEASE

The students of BITS PLEASE had arranged a session on “How to design a new basic android application” on 1/8/2016
In the session, The students were taught about how to design a new basic android app for Android Devices running Marsh mellow. There was a demonstration about the steps and every method was explained in detail. The Android app was pushed to a mobile phone and the output was shown. The students also got to know about the back end development of the Bits Please app and how it interacts with the live google database and also how it creates a push notification in millions of devices connected to it. The students thoroughly seemed to enjoy it and we obtained a 100% feedback and the students are now eager to learn more.

Guest Lecture on “Programming in C-Basics”

On 29-7-2016, Department of Computer Science and Engineering had arranged for Guest Lecture on “Programming in C” by Professor A.M Padmareddy from Sai Vidya Institute of Technology.  The purpose is to make students understand the importance of programming for the current semester.

The session was started at 9:30 AM and went on till 1PM, covering Data types, Memory organization, Sorting Techniques and How to answer technical questions on C. The session was Interactive and active participation was received from the student’s side.

Faculty development program

A five day Faculty development program on ”DATA STRUCTURES WITH C AND PYTHON” was conducted by the Department of Computer science and engineering , KSSEM from 12th to 16th July 2016.

An updated syllabus is been introduced by the Visveswaraya Technological University to encourage the students to learn new technologies and have good basic knowledge on computer basics. With respect to the trend set by VTU, the Faculties from various institutions and in house faculties were trained to promote continuous learning.

On the first day i.e., 12th July 2016, Dr.B.K.Raghavendra, professor and head department of computer science took over the FDP and explained about the use of WEKA and JTHON in analysing and preparing data mining applications. The afternoon session had hands on exposure to the tool WEKA and it was very much interactive.

Second day 13th July, Mr.Vadiraj and Mr.Adithya Koundinya, Assistant professors from Jyothy Institute of technology Explained about the basic concepts of data structures with c . Radix sort and File structures being the center of attraction, the class extended the basic concepts of data structures applications. Use of hashing technique to avoid collision and programming the same was handled in the afternoon session.

Third day 14th July, Profeesor A.M.Padmareddy, Principal , SVIT, who is also a well known person in the field of data structures, made the addition of polynomial and its coding very easy. The session had explanation about Linked Lists , Dynamic memory allocation, Use of structures in programming. He also expressed how teacher should be dedicated and passionate in his work.

Fourth day 15th July, Dr.Mohan M.S, professor and head department of Information science handled the class and explained “STACKS” &”QUEUES”. The importance if data structures with its detailed explanation was taught and afternoon session had hands on exposure to the applications of stacks and queues.

The Last day 16th July, In house faculty members Mr.Govindaraju G.N and Vikram Haibatti , Assistant professors ,Department of Computer science took over the hands on classes to explain  PYTHON  programming language. They made learning really interesting.

The program was ended up with valedictory session and participant’s positive feedback.

MTech  FareWell and Welcome Party

On 20th May 2016, the Students of MTech, Department of Computer Science and Engineering had Organised Fare Well For Out going Students and Freshers Party for the First year Students. As told “Small is beautiful” even though the strength of the Post graduation is less in number, they celebrated with great heart and shared their Feelings with audience. The event was graced by Dr.B.K.Raghavendra, Head and Professor, Department of CSE, Mrs.Veena R.S and Mr.Govinda Raju and supported by all the staff members. The event had a grand lunch and ended with some games and gifts.

   

Farewell

Students of 6th semester CSE had organized a farewell party for 8th semester students on 13/5/2016. Various events were conducted for the outgoing students. The four years memorable moments of these students were presented in the form of a video by the juniors. The event concluded with a quote “Every ending has a new beginning” and All the Best for their future.

Conference on April 26/4/2016

With the aim of building Quality Engineers, The Department of Computer Science and Engineering  has organized one day national conference on ” Advances in Computing Technology –NCCT 2016” on 26th April , 2016. The Conference had people all the way from Industry to Institution, meeting all the heights in Technology and its advancement. The chief guest Mr. Anoop Sam , Operations Head, from Vintage Agora, Delivered wonderful Key note address, which inspired young engineers. The management committee of KSGI Sri Y.Ramachandra Naidu, President, Sri D.Rukmangada, Treasurer and Dr.S.N.Sridhara, Principal/Director Witnessed the Opening Ceremony of the Conference. The Conference had received 100+ papers around Karnataka, after strict scrutiny from the Committee 60+ could present /Publish their papers. Four parallel sessions witnessed participants from 10 AM till 3 PM and at the valedictory session four Best papers were selected and awarded.

Project Presentation on 22/4/2016

To exhibit the Technical talent of the Students of KSSEM, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering has organized a Project Exhibition on 22nd April, 2016. The Exhibition was inaugurated by Principal/Director Dr.S.N.Sridhara and Dr.Mohan.H.S, Professor and Head, Department of ISE, SJBIT. Around 26 groups from the department of CSE participated under Post graduation team and Undergraduate team and won best project award evaluated based on their theme and presentation skills. This platform gave students some more strength to their feathers.

Industry Visit to Infosys, Mysore on 9th April 2016

Department of Computer Science & Engineering has organized one day Industry visit to INFOSYS, Mysore on 9th of April 2016 for fourth and sixth semester students. The students got the opportunity to visit the campus and learn the discipline in the Industry. This Industry Visit made the students exposed to Actual Working Conditions, Aware with Industry Practices, Increase Practical Awareness of Industry Sector, and Acquaint with Interesting Facts and Breath-Taking Technologies.

Bits please coding hub

Students have come up with their own interest in gathering the students to understand logic and code together to learn computer science through a different approach on 6th April 2016. The hub starts with the basics to all the students and then exploration on own interest. This will not only help us all learn CSE but to think, create and develop useful projects with accuracy. Screening test, a small task, helped in filtering the interested students who are now excited to code together. The guests who attended the introduction were Professor Veena R.S and Ass. Professor Vasugi I.

Technical Talk from 28th March to 30th March 2016.

The students of the Lower Semester were given opportunity to learn all the technical concepts which is a part of their placement Training.

Technical professionals Mr. Shiva and Ms. Nilofer Sana from Seventh Sense Talent Solutions were invited to instruct and build the technical skills in the budding minds.

Many technical subjects and critical issues like Project making, Seminar Preparation, Coding and its importance are discussed and instructed for the same.

Excursion from 23rd March to 27th March 2016.

The department of CSE had arranged an excursion for the students of the 4th, 6th and 8th semester. The trip was scheduled for Dandeli, Gokarna and Yaana from 23rd March to 27th March 2016.

Day 1 started with water activities at Dandeli followed by Dj and campfire. Second day started with exploring the dense forest and sight- seeing at Dandeli. Third day students had to trek the Yaana caves and the day ended with  a visit to the spiritual place Gokarna.

Finally, students made memories with this adventurous trip that they can cherish till end.

“The Department of CSE,K.S.School Of Engineering And Management “, has organised for Technical talk on Finite Automata and Formal langauges on 17-oct-2015.

Prof.Padma Reddy from sai vidya institute of technology addressed the 5th semester students of the Department on Push Down Automata. The session went on for 2 hours and was Interactive.


 Prof. Padma Reddy also addressed  few staff members of the department and suggested Methods of teaching “Programming in C and Datastructures.”

Workshop on JAVA and Web Designing

The Department of CSE has organized a two day workshop on JAVA and Web Designing on 9th and 10th October 2015, to enrich the knowledge of 5th semester students. The workshop was delivered by Ashok Kumar from IBM on the concepts  of  Java Servlets and Html used in the development of Web Applications.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is always at the forefront in organizing Workshops, Seminars which help students to achieve Confidence, Gain Knowledge and Solutions to the real world problem. on 21- 22 September 2015, the Department of CSE organized a two day workshop on DATA STRUCTURES and C++, to enrich the 3rd semester students. The workshop was delivered by delegates from PROFLEX Company, who  provided simple solutions to remember the concepts.

The Students of the Department Celebrated Teachers day to memorize the Birthday of great teacher Dr. Sarvepalli RadhaKrishnan on 5th September 2015. The celebration was to honor their teachers who thought them Subjects and humanity.  They heartily appreciated by giving away awards like, Santhoor, Best Responder, Neat to Pin, Mr.Perfect , Mr.Smart and many more. The celebration started at 12 PM and continued till 2 PM with lite snacks.

Freshers party celebration 0n 4th August 2015

Students of Computer science and engineering department conducted Freshers day on 4th of August 2015. The Party was organized to create communication mode between the new joiners and seniors. It is obviously the environment which makes them feel happy and good to be in the campus. In favoring the Party several Games such as ice breaker, dare to win, Dance performances were conducted. Seniors cheered them with Bollywood and pop songs. Small Refreshment was arranged to relish the movement. The party ended up by selecting Mr and Ms Fresher.

Farewell

A fare well is a party with good riddance, heartwarming and a touchy atmosphere. The 6th Sem students of Computer science and engineering arranged a Send off party for the 8th sem outgoing students on 18th may 2015. Seniors had a nice blast and juniors managed to have a high voltage throughout the party.

Excursion

The students of 6th and 4th semester Computer Science & Engineering went for excursion to Kerala-“The Gods Own Country” from 1st April 2015 to 5th April 2015. The Students were accompanied by the faculty members of the department and made sure that they enjoyed at most.

The induction and integration of the new entrants for the course M Tech (CSE)-Fresher’s Party 2014-15 was organised on 20th March 2015 by their immediate seniors . A fun filled day where the fresher’s were on the spot light to show their talents and bondage with the department. The party was preceded by Dr.Raghavendra B.K, HOD, Department of CSE. Dr. Gopalkrishna M.T and Mrs. Veena R.S also accompanied him. Many events were conducted to cheer the juniors.

Industry Visit to TCS, Bangalore on 27th March 2014

Industrial visit is considered as one of the most tactical methods of teaching. The main reason behind this – it lets students to know things practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. Moreover, it gives exposure from academic point of view.

Sixth semester students visited TCS, Bangalore on 27/03/2014 to develop the insights of the students – attaining practical knowledge and their theoretical applications.

One day technical talk was organized by the department 0f CSE, on “Big-Data Analytics and Hadoops” for the students of 2nd Semester M.Tech on 19th Feb 2014. The talk was delivered by Mr. Sudhakar Pal M, Tsidkenu Research and Analytics Pvt. Ltd.

Aarohan Trophy Winning Celebration – 19th Feb 2014

Department of CSE has won the student’s rolling trophy awarded for securing the maximum points in all the cultural events conducted on the occasion of AAROHANA – 2014.

Also the department of CSE has won a rolling trophy awarded for securing the maximum points in sport events in Annual sports, held on 14th Feb 2014 at Sai Ground, Bangalore University.

To celebrate the winning moments both the trophies the staff and students organized a cake cutting event on 19th February 2014.

Department Forum – Encryptonites

The association was inaugurated on 21/02/2011 with the vision of bringing in high level of interaction between the students and Resource experts and to organize technical sessions, workshops through a close tie-up with the Industry.

Shanthikiran, Engineering Manager, CISCO and Mr. Anantha Padmanabha Naidu, AGM, HCL Technologies. Chief Guests had inspired the students saying “Learning never ends”.

He has talked about the various opportunities in the field of Computer Science& Engineering. The session was highly interactive. Students conducted a technical quiz and showcased their talents.

In second session the speaker Mr. Anantha Padmanabha Naidu, AGM, HCL Technologies, Bangalore. He had explained IT expectations from the college students which was very informative for the students. He made the session very interactive by giving group exercise. He told what the CS-CAFÉ can do to catch up the Train in industry.

Mr. Lokesh Reddy Service Engineering Manager Yahoo India visited our institution as Chief Guest for forum “Encryptonites” inauguration on 29th October, 2011 and delivered a talk on “Storage Area Network”. The focus of talk was mainly on applications of “Storage Area Network” in industries and corporations. The session was very interactive and also made students understand the importance of “Storage Area Network” in various fields of Computer Science and Engineering.
