CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT (2012-2016)

SURYA PRAKASH. V

Is it Fate or Destiny I believe in??

Do any of the above exist? Think….

Fate and Destiny have the same meaning. But destiny is used for a positive cause and fate for a negative one. Destined was I to get into a joint family called KSSEM and as a kid to the loving parent called Civil Branch.

Just giving a thought about Civil Branch of KSSEM, the first thing that comes to everyone’s mind is our HOD. “You should never expect everyone around you to love you!” were HOD’s words in my 4th semester, which was encrypted in my mind and which also changed my attitude towards life. It is not about how big our position is in an organization, it is how humble and open minded we are towards learning from others without any hesitation, is what I learnt from our HOD.

Every teacher in our college has their own awesomeness. I have good memories with most of my teachers. Many a times I did get onto the nerves of few teachers but was forgiven for all my mistakes and naughtiness. I love all my teachers from the bottom of my heart.  The best part is they never expected anything from us apart from being active in both academics and co-curricular activities.

I personally have made lot of friends for life in KSSEM, got rid of stage fear and learnt that team effort can win us anything. To sum it up, my four years of college were the happiest days of my life. I would never trade these memories for anything.

Thank you for everything. I am very thankful that I was destined to be a student at KSSEM.

“Life is a journey…. not a destination. Keep moving on and make sure you never regret for anything.”

After my completion of pre-university, I was confused about which college to choose for my future education.  Since it was my childhood dream to join into engineering stream, I was in search of a good engineering college in Bangalore.  Today, I am very grateful that I was a part of KSSEM, where my dreams were fulfilled. This college provides standard technical education for the students who come across from different places.

Apart from education, co-curricular activities are also given equal importance in this college.

Technical tours are held every year to give more practical knowledge about the subject to the students. In 2nd year of engineering, we were taken to Varahi Power Project and to Gajanur Dam, where we got a brief idea about the dam, reservoir and storage capacity and many other technical aspects of irrigation.  During the  3rd year, we were taken to Survey Camp as a part of our academics, which was conducted at Kaiwara for 8 days. Each day of this camp was extremely memorable for us.

I am very proud for having graduated from this esteemed college. I was very fortunate that I had very good lecturers, who would show immense interest in helping students in order to perform better in academics. This college provides a perfect platform for students to mould themselves to their best and I am proud to be one amongst them.

It is my pleasure to share my four years of experience in this college. When I joined this college, during the initial days I just had a few friends. During my 1st year cultural fest of ‘Aarohana’, I got a chance to interact with my peers and as days passed on I had made good number of friends.

I am really lucky to have such good friends who have always built my confidence, supported and guided me throughout my engineering days. There were several moments we have spent together having fun, teasing each other, sharing, caring, and fighting for silly reasons, birthday celebrations and many more.

I would like to thank our beloved HOD, all the lecturers and also non-teaching staff of our civil department who have been my strength and support. All my friends and lecturers have contributed to my success in academics. I have started to learn what life means in the four years of my engineering.  Survey camp which was a part of our academics in the 6th semester was one of the best memories I will cherish throughout my life.

I am so happy that I am graduating, but sad at the same time since I have to miss all the wonderful moments spent with my friends and lecturers. I am sure though that each and every moment spent during these four years will be the best part of my life.

When I was asked to share my four years of experience, I felt very obliged and also happy as I could share my views about my college and friends. To be honest, I did not have a glimpse of thought about the engineering stream and its courses as I was totally uninterested because the subject of mathematics would surely be a nightmare to me!   I joined the branch of Civil Engineering at KSSEM with a blank mind and knew least about the course. Fortunately, I can say that these four years of my engineering life are the most memorable ones and each and every minute spent here is very precious and everlasting.

I can say that I was fortunate enough to get friends who were more like a family to me. They always stood by me in my ups and downs and made me believe in myself. Whatever I am today is truly because of their support and I owe them a lot.

Well, our civil department is so friendly and supportive to all and the compatibility that they have created is also one of the main reasons for my happiness and my success in academics. Not only our faculties, but also the non-teaching staff of our department are   knowledgeable and have guided us in an appreciable way. My engineering life may end at this but the sweet memories, the lessons I have learnt and the people I am with, will be forever in my life and I would always love to cherish these fantabulous moments.

I still vividly remember my first day of college. I was so excited about meeting new people and making new friends. Joining KSSEM felt like liberation for me after all the commotion of the CET placements and college hunting that went on before. Though I found it difficult to get adjusted with new people, eventually as the tide passed, I met some wonderful friends who have been with me through all the good and bad phases of my life.

We still have a great laugh at how we were a few years back and the things we had done then. We will always cherish every moment of the very first cultural event of Aarohana that we were a part of. The fun we had during different occasions can never be forgotten by any of us such as our very first trip to Kollur, survey camp and many more. Last but not the least, the level of friendliness and kindness the HOD and faculties of civil department showered on us is something that we had not expected. This is something we all will cherish for a long time.

I would like to end by saying; some bonds can never be broken or shattered. All the wonderful moments and memories that I have gathered during the four years of my engineering life will always be cherished.

Happiness is when what you say, what you do and what you think, are in harmony – Mahatma Gandhi.

The happiest phase in my life is ‘Engineering days’. I started my journey as a “Civil Engineering” student in KSSEM. KSSEM is a dream of every Engineering student, you get to live what actually is the ideal college life. You are totally independent there.  The academics, co-curricular, extracurricular, events, fests and everything just make it amazing place to spend 4yrs of your life. What I like the most here is that in comparison to other engineering colleges, students take academics here quite seriously. The best hangout spots in KSSEM are the food court and canopy where I myself love to chill.

My college “KSSEM” provided well equipped modern facilities like library, classrooms and also labs. We had our own KSSEM g-mail account. Any news whether assignments, internals, time table, any other important circular and all sorts of officials notices were dealt with at this place. This g-mail account has the database of the KSSEM faculty, so that we can easily contact them at any time. I really miss my college days how I enjoyed every moment in KSSEM. I really miss my HOD, dearest friends a lot. Every person is unique and every day, new adventure has to come into picture. Despite of learning pressure and demand of improvement, an engineer is able to relish the happiest moment of the life.

“Honestly, the help I received from my college was absolutely indispensable. It not only gave me the facts, but he also gave me support. All of the Department staff are ready and willing to make time for students for mentoring. Proctor books for individual students are issued which has all the details about the students and every semester result. I have learned a lot from my
professors. My college days are unforgettable and in fact
those days are happy days in my life. We used to crack jokes, bunk the
class. If caught led to punishments. College life is so beautiful, no body can forget those
days in their life’s and those days will never be back again.  I miss my college , friends and faculties.

I am very fortunate to share my experience during my academics in KSSEM.
I still vividly remember my first day in college it was best experience because all my new friends were discussing on the semester exams which was one month ahead and I remember joining as a lateral joinee it was too tough for me to cover the gap, that is when our Principal,HOD,Faculty and my friends were very supportive to cover the gap and I was able to pass with Distinction in that particular semester and I felt so happy and  that was a best decision which I made joining KSSEM.

To tell much about our department, I found guidance, friendship, discipline and love in one person. And that person is our HOD(Vijaya Lakshmi Akkela), Unlike other department HOD I felt my HOD is to be more likable and more friendly with students. Adding to this our both teaching and non- teaching faculty are very supportive and kind to all.

KSSEM is one of the best emerging engineering college in Bangalore, We have the best infrastructure, Design, and labs for the betterment of  the students .

Apart from the academics students will participate in various sports, talent shows and cultural activities, the best student will be recognized in every annual fest. I wish all the new Joinees to involve in all kind of activities and take the best out from KSSEM.

I started my journey in this college as a civil engineering student. I joined this college with lots of confusions in mind, but as the days passed I felt my decision in selecting this college was the best thing i did. I found the best people of my life which made many memories, taught many lessons, to realize the comparison between good and bad.
Our HOD and teachers guided us, supported us, inspite of all the mischief we did and they stood with us for each and every step, decision we took in leading us in right way.
There are many co-curricular activities, events, fest etc. Every year we have fest “AAROHANA” and sports which was a platform to prove our talents.
We were given personal email id of college in which we had a chance or opportunity of sharing any kind of dispute in the college. So many to pen like this about the life spent in this college.
I miss all those days spent in this college which were very memorable and those days of that 4 years were the happiest days in our life. Thank you KSSEM for that 4 years.

To start with, the journey of 4 years in KSSEM was wonderful ,4 years passed like few days. Each day was new and special .I would really treasure these 4 years in my life. I still remember my 1st day. I was little nervous about new college , new friends. Ours was the 2nd batch in college, I really didn’t know how was the college, but all our teachers of the department really inspired us about the branch. I would really thank God for giving the biggest gift that is, my department.

I’m really lucky to have a such a wonderful support of teachers for making my way to career and my beloved HOD Mam, I would rather call her my second mom, who always guided me in a right way, supported and inspired me to do new things. How can I end without mentioning my friends who were always with me for any matter, they were really very close where I could share my thoughts and I would miss my combined studies.

With all these, I thank my parents for choosing this institution which kept me happy for all these 4 years. One more think I would like to cherish is that , the best outgoing student of the institution award which is really heart touching moment that any student can feel . I was selected as that student and that is because of the immense support by my parents , teachers ,friends where I could achieve to receive that award. I really miss my HOD Mam , teachers , friends and college.
